I’m sleepless. Damn thyroid medication (cytomel) and my over thinking brain!
So, what DOES one do when one wants to sleep, but can’t? Here’s what I did:
- Twitter – there’s always someone awake to amuse you.
- Food Network – I love cooking and being inspired to try new things, although I prefer this not to happen at 1:00am.
- Thought of Gerard Butler (we saw The Ugly Truth last night. Good Movie.) and hoped I’d fall asleep and dream of him. Didn’t work
Damn it. - Started planning a promotion for work. Used Evernote to dictate my thoughts. Insomnia does have it’s perks.
- Got up to check on the kids.
- Tried to find something to watch on TV. No luck.
- Read a few chapters of Freakonomics.
- Had some random thoughts that I would NEVER publish to my blog
- Dozzed off for a while. Finally.
- Got up to pee.
- Checked Twitter. Again!
- Thought about digging out some old scuba diving pictures and scanning them. Didn’t want to wake anyone.
- Backed my butt up against Adam thinking that would sooth me to sleep. It was comfy, but still couldn’t sleep.
- Got up and did some sit ups and push ups. Oddly, I kind of liked doing it, but it didn’t help me in the getting to sleep department.
- Thought about Italy and Greece. Made a mental note to get to one of those places in the next year.
- Dozed off again.
- Woke up and decided to weigh myself. Wrote my weight in a journal I keep in my underwear drawer.
- Thought about scheduling fall swim lessons for Bella and Abby at Swim West. I’m hoping they become swimmers like their Mommy
- Put on a pot of coffee.
- Googled “Insomnia on cytomel” – which is a common side effect. So is feeling hot (body temperature wise). Which is a symptom that really bothers me.
- Opened Seesmic desktop to check Twitter and Facebook.
- Blipped a few songs
- Decided on new blog post “Sleepless Nights”
